This is especially annoying when, for example, you have a customer on the phone and need urgent information, but it is saved on the computer. Then the duration of the slow start-up becomes a real test of patience. A remedy for this is the quick start, which allows <a href=\"https:\/\/www.blitzhandel24.com\/server-client\/windows\/windows-10\/?p=1\">Windows 10<\/a> to start up and shut down significantly faster. Normally it only takes a few seconds. Practical, isn&#8217;t it? And yet there can be good reasons to deactivate Windows 10 Quick Start. We explain what they are here.[\/vc_column_text][vc_custom_heading]<\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">This is what happens with Windows 10 Quick Start<\/span><\/h2>\n<h2><\/h2>\n<p>[\/vc_custom_heading][vc_column_text]When starting the computer under <a href=\"https:\/\/www.blitzhandel24.com\/server-client\/windows\/windows-10\/284\/microsoft-windows-10-home\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Windows 10 Home<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> or <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.blitzhandel24.com\/server-client\/windows\/windows-10\/268\/microsoft-windows-10-pro-vollversion\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Windows 10 Pro<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> basically three system operations take place:<\/span>[\/vc_column_text][uncode_list]<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><b>Preboot,<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> i.e. the authentication of the system <\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><b>Initialisation<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> of the system and the driver <\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><b>Session<\/b> Init, which refers to the actual starting of the session.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>[\/uncode_list][vc_column_text]Once all this is done, the PC can accept the user&#8217;s login <span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Windows 10 Quick Start basically just optimises the initialisation process. The slow start-up with seemingly endless duration can be avoided if the computer is also shut down in this mode beforehand. The entire system is then in a kind of sleep mode. That is, it is not shut down completely, only the programmes are closed and the users logged off <\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The most important system files for initialisation, which the PC needs immediately at start-up, are stored in a buffer called &#8222;hiberfil.sys&#8220; &#8211; and are immediately ready for use again at the next start.<\/span>[\/vc_column_text][vc_single_image media=&#8220;1004&#8243; caption=&#8220;yes&#8220; media_width_percent=&#8220;100&#8243;][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row row_height_percent=&#8220;0&#8243; back_color=&#8220;color-208649&#8243; overlay_alpha=&#8220;50&#8243; gutter_size=&#8220;3&#8243; column_width_percent=&#8220;100&#8243; shift_y=&#8220;0&#8243; z_index=&#8220;0&#8243;][vc_column][vc_custom_heading]<\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Why should you deactivate Windows 10 Quick Start?<\/span><\/h2>\n<p>[\/vc_custom_heading][vc_column_text]In Windows 10 Home and Windows 10 Pro, the Quick Start feature is already enabled as a default. Nevertheless, there are situations in which it is better not to use the function: [\/vc_column_text][uncode_list]<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">When working with <\/span><b>two operating systems<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> on one computer, problems can arise especially with older versions of Windows (especially Windows 7!) and with Linux <\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">If you use an <\/span><b>SSD hard disk<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">if you use an SSD hard disk, its service life is shortened by the permanent additional write operations <\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">When working in a <\/span><b>Network<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> policies cannot be executed if they have &#8222;On start-up&#8220; as a condition.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Included <\/span><b>Software Distribution and Patch Management<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> contain the &#8222;On restart&#8220; rule, they will not work with the Quick Start feature.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>[\/uncode_list][vc_custom_heading]<\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">To disable Windows 10 Quick Start <\/span><\/h2>\n<p>[\/vc_custom_heading][vc_column_text]If there is one of the previously mentioned problems with the PC, it is high time to deactivate the pre-installed Windows 10 Quick Start. Here&#8217;s how to do it:[\/vc_column_text][uncode_list]<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">First open the <\/span><b>Control Panel<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> under Windows 10.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">In the category <\/span><b>&#8222;System and Security<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> then click on <\/span><b>&#8222;Power Options<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Now in the selection window select the option <\/span><b>&#8222;Select what should happen when the power switch is pressed&#8220;<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> select.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Among other things, the following link appears <\/span><b>&#8222;Some settings are not available at the moment&#8220;<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">which must be clicked on.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">This is followed by a <\/span><b>Security question<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">which you must answer with &#8222;Yes&#8220;.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Now scroll down and uncheck the option <\/span><b>&#8222;Activate quick start (recommended)&#8220;<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> uncheck it <\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\">As a last step, confirm the new settings under <b>&#8222;Save changes&#8220;<\/b>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>[\/uncode_list][vc_custom_heading heading_semantic=&#8220;h4&#8243; text_size=&#8220;h4&#8243;]<\/p>\n<h4>Tip:<\/h4>\n<p>[\/vc_custom_heading][vc_column_text]If you want to reactivate Windows 10 Quick Start, you have to follow the same steps again. However, under &#8222;Activate quick start (recommended)&#8220;, set the corresponding check mark.[\/vc_column_text][vc_single_image media=&#8220;1035&#8243; caption=&#8220;yes&#8220; media_width_percent=&#8220;100&#8243;][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_custom_heading]<\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Everything only works when the hibernation function is activated<\/span><\/h2>\n<p>[\/vc_custom_heading][vc_column_text]Windows 10 Quick Start is based on Hibernation Mode. This means that the PC is disconnected from the power supply in hibernation mode. However, if the hibernation function is already switched off &#8211; for whatever reason &#8211; deactivating Windows 10 Quick Start will not work.
